Gospel

We are an independent Christian school based on the values of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as defined in the Articles of Faith. To ensure our school provides the best environment for teaching these principals correctly, students and faculty are required to follow standards found in For the Strength of Youth: A Guide For Making Choices.

Our worldview is based on the belief that each student is a child of God, that God is our Father in Heaven, who loves all of His children and that He created a plan to lead, guide and teach each of us how to obtain eternal life and return to Him through the teachings, sacrifice, grace and mercy of Jesus Christ.

Our gospel teaching and philosophy is centered on and guided by the Lords greatest commandment, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” (Matt. 22:37-40) In seeking the peace and joy of our children and society, it is our sincere belief that these words and the words of Isaiah are true, that when all thy children shall be taught of the Lord, great shall be the peace of thy children." (Isa. 54:13)

With these concepts in mind, New Jerusalem Academy, seeks to assist and inspire students, teachers and all who are involved with the organization to follow Jesus Christ to the best of their ability, according to their own individual desires and pace, without pressure or stress, and according to their own free will and choice. Our greatest desire is to help students in the process of learning how to seek the Lord with all of their heart, soul and mind by thoroughly teaching them the scriptures and equipping them with the best skills and tools possible, to give them the best chance of achieving their desires.
